About Me

I recently graduated the Master in Visual Studies at the John H. Daniels, Faculty of Architecture and Design, University of Toronto, Canada. During my studies at the University of Toronto I was a Teacher Assistant in Visual Concepts, and an Instructor for the Visual Strategies Course where I taught drawing performance, life drawing after model, video, collage, sculpture and installation.

During my years of study I have acquired knowledge in Art History and I have developed my artistic talent and specific skills in the field of Sculpture, experimenting with different materials, in search of forms evoking indeterminacy and immaterial quality.

I developed my art background in Bucharest, Romania at the University of Fine Arts, where I graduated with a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree in Sculpture. This was followed by a two-year research program in sculpture at the Romanian Academy in Rome, a scholarship for young artists funded by the Romanian Government.

During my artistic evolution and my research, I discovered similar conception and concern with Arte Povera in which the use of everyday materials explores the notion of space and language, where traces of industry and nature become visible.  The use of available materials offers freedom of expression and it tells the story of the spaces where they once lived. Their story becomes the artist’s present. History is reshaped. The materials are reborn under new ideas.
